IB Biology 2 (HL) (DE) is part two of a two-sequence course. The course continues the focus on biological processes with a chemical foundation, including macromolecules, cellular structure, metabolism, and genetics in an evolutionary context. Students will explore the core concepts of evolution; structure and function; information flow, storage and exchange; pathways and transformation of energy and matter; and systems biology. The students will emphasis the process of science, interdisciplinary approach, and relevance of biology to society. Successful completion of this course equates to BIO 102 General Biology 2 (4 credits) at NOVA.
